These days there are so many frame styles to choose from that you may well feel overwhelmed by the choice. Our friendly staff have been trained to help you to choose a frame that will not only, compliment your face shape and colouring but also suit your prescription, life style and budget. Today's designer frames offer much better quality and value for money than was available only a few years ago so you should be pleasantly surprised by our prices If your prescription needs changing or you can't choose between frames we offer the added value of a 2 for 1 offer on selected ranges. Not every frame style or colour will suit every face, the shape of your face is an important consideration when choosing a frame that will flatter your appearance. Generally, the shape of your face will fall into one of these categories, oval, round, square, or heart shaped. Oval
Faces If you have an oval face, most frame shapes will suit you, as long as the size of the frame is in proportion to your face. Try styles that are the same width as the face. Avoid large, thick-rimmed frames and upswept or cats eyes styles. Round Faces You can choose frames that will help to slim and lengthen your face. Again, choose frames that are as wide as the widest part of your face. Frames with straight or angular lines will work well on round faces. Try upswept cats' eye styles, a clear bridge, decoration or colour on the vertical sides of the frame. Avoid small, round thick frames, or dark colours. Square Faces Like round faces, you can choose frames that slim and lengthen your face. Slightly rounded or curved frames will best compliment a square face. Try soft curved styles no wider than your face, side decoration or a wider rim at the top. Avoid small, thin-rimmed frames or angular frames.
Heart Shaped Faces The best frames for a heart shaped face have a thin rim and some vertical lines to help balance the bottom part of your face. Try soft round or oval shapes, thin rims and small square styles. Avoid deep, bold frames or low- sided frames. Other considerations The shape of your nose and the tone of your complexion will also play
a part in the correct choice of frame for you. Our trained staff are here
to guide you through every step of the selection process so you have no
need to worry. You can rest assured that when you leave the practice with
your new spectacles they will be the very best ones for you.
Kids Frames You'll find that our practices offer a wide range of attractive styles specially designed for young faces. Many frames have soft nose pads for extra comfort and sprung hinges to stand up to the rough and tumble of everyday life. Children must feel comfortable about wearing spectacles - or they won't use them when they should. So we take care to explain why glasses are important, as well as ensuring that they fit well and look good.
We will discuss the different options with you and only recommend spectacles that suit both your child's needs and your budget. Good vision is essential in childhood development and regular eye examinations are the key to good vision. The earlier any problem is detected, the greater the chances of it being corrected. So, even if nothing appears to be wrong, it's important to make sure your child has an eye examination at least once a year. Remember that it costs nothing to have your child's eyes examined at one of our practices by a fully qualified optometrist. We provide a professional eyecare service for children, together with stylish spectacles at affordable prices or completely free when chosen from a selected range.
